**** HEAVEN Magazine blesses 'Roadmap Heart' with – 4 STARS
'Her songs are beautiful and personal tales that reach right into the heart of the listener, like the Dylanesk 'Amsterdam Rain' that was written in the Netherlands. She has a magnificent voice that reminds of Shawn Colvin and Eliza Gilkyson.'

Update from Marisa in Europe...
We are flying through Bavaria on a train, through the beautiful open fields dotted with small villages. There is a storm across the sky ahead of us, and the thunder sounds amazing through the window of our speeding train.
Last night I played in a very funky little venue in Wurzburg where the punters gathered around a collection of couches and old theatre seats in an open courtyard to watch the show. There was even an aging mirror ball and coloured lights draped from the trees. I also joined German artist Markus Rill, onstage in a rendition of the old Emmylou Harris/Gram Parsons track 'Love Hurts'. Today I got to explore the picturesque city of Wurzburg. The whole city is a work of art, and the frescos by Tiepolo in the palace were nothing short of spectacular.
I've done over 12 shows here in Germany to all manner of audiences, in all manner of venues. We had an absolutely great time on the 'Songs and Whispers' Tour where I played each night with Paul Littlewood (Fallen Trees- Sheffield), and Scarlatti Tilt, a refreshingly creative 3 piece band from Bristol.
We started out in Bremen where we played instores and shows each night before moving on to Delmenhorst and Achim. Then we headed down to Katacombe in Gottingen, an underground bar with a vaulted ceiling, very cool place. When we hit Hamburg, we headed for the Astra Strube, a funky little venue under an underpass in a very bohemian part of town, which reminded me a lot of Brunswick Street back in the 90s.
We also played at Kompetent & Freundlich to a great crowd of Hamburgers (what else is the plural of Hamburg, you tell me!!) on a hot summer evening which seemed more fitting for Australia than Germany.
On my wish list for my visit to Hamburg, was a trip to the Reeperbahn where the Beatles 'cut their teeth' playing infamously long shows just before they made the teenagers of the world scream..We also walked around the massive Hamburg harbour which brings home just what an important shipping point Hamburg is for the whole world.
I gaze up from my computer to see golden fields of wheat, just like Monet would have painted out one side of the train, and a fairly traditional village to the left side, with tudor style houses with their steeply sloped slate roofs and dormer windows. There is a river winding along, following us as we make our way through the valley, and in the distance there are thick forests on the mountaintops. Tonight we stay with a friends just outside Frankfurt, and in a day or two we will make our way back to Holland. We have had a great time in Germany, and look forward to coming back soon to play more shows and to get to know many, many, more great German people..
