MARISA TO PERFORM AT THE VAN GOGH MUSEUM Marisa was recently invited to write a song to be included in the upcoming 'Symbolists' exhibition at the famous Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Marisa is honoured to be asked to contribute, and she has completed a song called 'Aurora' to accompany the painting Lake Keitele by Finnish Artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela. The painting has inspired music before, almost 100 years ago, when Jean Sibelius wrote 'The Oceanides' in 1914.

Marisa recently recorded the song at the studio of Dutch guitarist BJ Baartmans, Studio Wild Verband in Boxmeer, and the songs will be available to coincide with the exhibition, as a single on itunes.The project includes 7 artists and 7 paintings. All these paintings have previously inspired composers, some over a century ago, so visitors will be provided with the possibility to listen to the old composition and/or the new songs by contemporary musicians. The 'Symbolists' exhibition begins in February and Marisa will be performing at the Van Gogh Museum Friday Night the 24th of February 2012.

MUSIC & ART PROJECT 'ICONS OF GRONINGEN' JAN ALTINK As we mentioned here recently , Marisa has been invited to contribute some of her work to the Groninger Museum, Art & Music Project. The Groninger Museum is the museum of modern and contemporary art in the city of Groningen in Northern Holland. The Museum is famous both for its architecture and its exhibitions which attract a large number of visitors. The project is part of an exhibition of work by Jan Altink who was a dutch expressionist painter. He was a cofounder of the artist's association and movement De Ploeg (The Plow, founded in 1918) which he named in reference to breaking new ground.
